The lariat is the most forgiving necklace silhouette ever designed, because it does not sit — it falls.

Lune threads a fine box chain through a small open circle, letting the two ends hang at different lengths: one ending in a slim horizontal bar, the other in a tiny round bead. The vertical line it creates draws the eye downward, which is why stylists reach for a lariat whenever they want to lengthen the neck and slim a silhouette.

Because the chain slides freely through the circle, the drop is adjustable. Pull the bar end for a deep V that sits at the sternum, or shorten it to sit just below the collarbone. One necklace, three completely different looks, with no clasp hunting and no tools.

Design & Craftsmanship

The chain is a 1 mm box chain — square links, precision-drawn. We chose it because box chain holds a straight vertical line without twisting under the weight of a drop, which a round cable chain will not do. It is also far more resistant to kinking.

The sliding circle is soldered closed and polished on its inner face, so the chain passes through smoothly rather than catching. The bar drop is milled flat rather than cut from round wire, giving it crisp edges that catch light along their full length instead of a soft blur.

Everything is solid recycled 925 sterling silver with a high mirror polish and a rhodium-free finish, so the tone stays cool and slightly grey — which is what lets it sit comfortably alongside gold pieces in a stack.

How to Wear It

Lune works hardest on open necklines: a V-neck, an open collar, a slip dress, or a plain tee where the vertical line does all the work. On a closed crew neck it loses most of its effect, because there is no open space for the drop to fall into.

Layer it over the Petal choker with the bar drop falling below the choker line — silver over rose gold reads as deliberate mixed metal, and the two lengths complement each other without tangling. Worn alone with hair up, it is complete on its own.

Care

Slide the chain slowly when adjusting. The circle is smooth, but yanking a fine chain shortens its life. Store it hanging, or coiled loosely in the pouch, so the two strands cannot knot around each other.

A pass with the supplied cloth restores the shine. Avoid silver dip on this piece, which can dull the crisp edges of the bar. If a kink does appear, lay the chain flat and roll it gently between your fingers.
